There are lovely trails along the river that are perfect for a stroll or bike ride. I love the library, too, it has a wonderful selection of both books and music, and a nice atmosphere. There is also the small Steel Beam Theatre which is always putting on enjoyable, intimate performances! It's a great place to visit or live. St. Charles is a beautiful town! There are many things to see and do in the area such as shopping in the quaint downtown area or the nearby shopping centers, taking a stroll by the river, or attending one of the town festivals. It's a laid-back and friendly community, that's not too far away from downtown chicago. We love living here and think that anyone who visits or moves here will be impressed by what St. Charles has to offer. St. Charles, IL is a wonderful community, especially if you’re looking to settle down and raise a family. We raised our family here from the time our daughter started kindergarten, which is now over 20 years!
